HUNG CHAO LI April 6, 1937 - March 26, 2004 Peacefully, Hung Chao Li passed away with family at his side at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are Yu Lien, his wife of 44 years; son Yan (Tina) daughters, Hua (Kim) Mok, Grace (Albert) Chan; grandchildren, Edwin and Simon Li, Shu-mon, Ror-Heng and Kai-mon Mok; one brother; two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in China, Hung Chao and his family were sponsored by his loving sister and brother-in-law Fuk Yeung (Yu Locke) Dong, in 1980 at which time they moved to Winnipeg. Two years later, he was employed by General Windows where he would remain until his retirement in 2002. Hung Chao took pride in his work and derived great pleasure from friendships with coworkers. He is remembered by those who knew him as a warm, helpful, honest and generous person striving to lead a simple and unassuming life. Hung Chao valued learning and hard work, he supported his childrens efforts to attain higher education and was proud of their accomplishments. A music lover, Hung Chao participated in choir performances and enjoyed playing the violin at his leisure. He also loved sight-seeing, spending time with his grandchildren, and reminiscing with friends and relatives. We will all miss him very much. The family wishes to thank Dr. T.L. Luk and the staff of Palliative Care at the St. Boniface General Hospital for their care of Hung Chao. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m., with viewing at 12:30 p.m., at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. Family viewing will be held on Monday, April 5 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the same location.
